From April 25–28, 2025, Curaçao proudly participated in the City Nature Challenge (CNC) for the very first time. The CNC is a four-day global citizen science event, organized by the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, that invites people around the world to document local biodiversity using the iNaturalist app.
City Nature Challenge Curaçao is organized voluntarily by Cindy Eman, Nadina Galle, and Femi Meaux, in collaboration with schools, NGOs, businesses, volunteers, and government institutions.
City Nature Challenge Curacao 2025 won the CITI Sustainable Innovation award in 2025.
The next edition will run from April 24th to April 27th, 2026.
